Panchatantra Uncensored

The Panchatantra is a collection of stories in the Sanskrit Neetishastra tradition—teachings on wise conduct in life. Created by Pandit Vishnu Sharma to educate princes in the art of governance, its tales explore human behaviour through the themes of friendship, deception, wisdom, courage, compassion and problem solving through wit and wisdom. Through its ingenious story-within-a-story structure, humans and animals constantly change roles as narrators and protagonists, revealing timeless truths about life and society. This performance presents a curated selection of lesser-known Panchatantra stories, strictly for adults. Surprising, entertaining and thought-provoking, they invite us to reflect on the wisdom of an ancient literary tradition—and its striking resonance with our times.
